Marin Smoje at the “Magnetic Attraction of Talents” panel as part of the Vukovar Business Forum – Meeting G2.12 conference

As part of the Vukovar Business Forum – Meeting G2.12 conference, Marin Smoje, a long-standing sports professional, football coach, and talent development expert, will participate in the “Magnetic Attraction of Talents” panel.

Born in Osijek in 1976, Marin Smoje completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown, after which he graduated from the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Coaching (bacc. cin.).

During his rich sports career, he actively played football in the top three tiers of Croatian football until the age of 35. After retiring as a player, he continued to work within the sports system through his role in the Community of Sports Associations of the City of Osijek. For the past ten years, he has been employed by the Croatian Football Federation (HNS), where he serves as the HNS Regional Instructor for the Osijek Football Center and the East Region.

His engagement over the last five years in a project dedicated to scouting and developing football talents of Croatian descent in the diaspora stands out in particular. Through this work, he actively contributes to connecting young athletes from outside Croatia with the Croatian sports system, creating opportunities for the development of new generations of talent and strengthening national identity through sports.

He holds the prestigious UEFA Pro coaching license, the highest level of football coaching education in Europe. Alongside his professional achievements, he emphasizes his family role with special pride – he is happily married and the proud father of two girls.

With Marin Smoje’s participation, the “Magnetic Attraction of Talents” panel will gain an additional dimension of experience in the field of talent identification, development, and retention, not only in sports but also in a broader social and business context.
