While Europe seeks answers to the challenges of energy independence, security of supply, and the green transition, the topic of energy will be at the very center of one of the most important panels at this year’s Vukovar Business Forum \u2013 Meeting G2.12 conference.<\/p>\n
The panel “Energy Security of Croatia and the Region” will gather prominent names from the energy, entrepreneurial, and innovation sectors. The discussion will address questions regarding the future of the Croatian energy sector, economic stability, and new technologies that are changing the regional market.<\/p>\n
Among the panelists is the President of the Management Board of JANAF, Stjepan Adanic, a man with rich experience in Croatia’s energy and security systems. Adanic has been at the helm of JANAF since 2021, backed by a decades-long career in the state and energy sectors. Today, he leads one of Croatia’s most strategically important energy companies, which plays a key role in the oil supply of Croatia and a large part of Central Europe.<\/p>\n
Also joining the panel is Tomislav Uroda, an innovator and the founder of the company iCat, who is one of the pioneers in the development of solar-electric boats in Croatia. In recent years, his company iCat has attracted attention with innovative and energy-efficient solutions in maritime transport. Uroda was among the first in the region to launch the development of electric catamarans and zero-emission vessels, and his project is frequently cited as an example of Croatian green innovation with international potential.<\/p>\n
The perspective of the real sector will be brought by the well-known entrepreneur from Vinkovci, Petar Simic, the owner and director of the company Grad-export d.o.o. A long-standing businessman and a volunteer of the Croatian War of Independence, Simic has been actively participating in the development of entrepreneurship and economic policies for years.<\/p>\n
Marica Balen, a geothermal expert from the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency\u2014an institution that plays a key role in managing hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation, as well as developing energy projects in Croatia\u2014will also participate in the panel. Questions regarding the energy transition, security of supply, and future investments will be among the key topics of the discussion, particularly since the city of Vukovar also possesses geothermal potential.<\/p>\n
